if we're like, showing graphs and stuff, this is the type that i think a lot of people on tumblr are thinking of when they think about the economy.

Only one third of people with family incomes below $50k spent less than their income each month. I would guess that a lot of people on tumblr who get aggro about this topic (and the vast majority of people on r/povertyfinance, who discuss this sort of thing a lot) fall into this earning category.

Real wage increases only matter if you got a raise (one third of workers got a raise last year, which means that 2/3rds didn't - included in the economic wellbeing report linked above). Whether or not rent is outpacing wages only matters if you're not going to be rent burdened (more than a third of renter households are cost burdened in every state and 12 million rental households spend more than half their income on rent). Employment rates lose a lot of meaning when you're working multiple jobs to make ends meet (the percentage of multiply employed workers was falling in the US from 1996 to the 2010s, when it plateaued, then it started rising slightly then collapsed in 2020 and has been rising steeply since then and it's too soon to tell if it's going to go back to the plateau or keep going up).

Four in ten adults in the US is carrying some level of medical debt (even people who are insured) and 60% of people with medical debt have cut back on food, clothes or household items; about 50% of people with medical debt have used up all their savings.

Tumblr is the broke people website and yeah, people who are working two jobs to afford $900 for one room and utilities in a three bedroom apartment are not going to feel great about the economy even if real wages are raising and inflation-adjusted rents are actually pretty stable. "The Rent is too Damn High" has been a meme for 14 years so, like, yeah. Even if it's pretty stable when adjusted for inflation it is stable and HIGH.

It's hard to feel good about the economy when you're spending the last few days of the pay period hoping nothing unexpected hits your account, and it's VERY frustrating to be told that the economy's doing well when you've had to start selling blood to buy groceries.

Sure, unemployment is low, that's neat. It's good that inflation has stabilized (it genuinely has; prices are not likely to fall back to pre-inflation rates and eventually you'll likely be paid enough to reach equilibrium, but a lot of people aren't there yet).

But, like, it costs eight thousand dollars a year out of pocket to keep my spouse alive. I'd guess that we've paid off about a third of the 40-ish thousands of dollars he's racked up since his heart attack. His medical debt is why I don't have a retirement plan beyond "I guess I'll die?" So talking about how good the economy is kind of feels like being chained in the bottom of a pit that is slowly filling with water while people on the surface talk about the fact that the rain is tapering off. Neat! That's good! But I can't really see it from where I'm standing.

Inflation really is getting better. My state just enacted a $20 minimum wage for fast food workers. The Biden administration has worked hard to reduce many kinds of healthcare costs. A lot of people have had significant portions of their student debt cancelled.

But a lot of people are still having trouble affording groceries and it doesn't seem helpful to say "your perception of the economy is decoupled from the reality of the economy" on the "can I get a few dollars for food today?" website.

2- favorite npc?

Okay aside from the main cast (Loop, Mirabelle, Isabeau, Bonnie and Odile) I’d have to say my favorite npc would have to be Euphrasie!

I adore her design and I just grown to really appreciate her/ writing her in general when applying the theory/ hc I had that she’s from the island like Loop, Siffrin and the King are. I’ve talked about that theory in depth in the official ISAT discord server, as well as here on tumblr. You can find a huge summary of that theory/ hc I initially came up with compiled by my good friend @felikatze who wrote a master post analysis on it here. My personal ramblings and theories about her can be found here and here.

From what little we get to see of her I just think she’s neat! A very fun and sweet character! I personally enjoy both writing her and drawing fanart for her. I’m a sucker for the characters who adores are kind and lighthearted/silly but still willing to do what it takes to protect the people they care about! Euphrasie is cool and it makes me sad when people say she isn’t really a character bc that’s wrong imo! Idk man even if we aren’t given a lot in the game itself, I think Euphrasie is in a similar category with characters like Petronille (Bonnie’s sister) or Claude ( Mirabelle’s roommate) we can clearly see glimpses of what they’re like based on how others describe them and flavor text/ interacting with objects in game etc. Like in canon Euphrasie has: 1) helped guide Mirabelle and many other people in the house of change 2) was one of the few people who knows about wish craft/ did her own research on it to help stop the king and 3) literally gave her own powers/ blessing of being immune to the King’s time freeze to Mirabelle so that she could escape being frozen at the cost of her own safety. Hell even when the world seemed to be ending and Siffrin shoved her away when he went super fucking huge kaiju star mode, she seemed to be fairly lax on the whole situation. Holy shit. Nerves of steel. What a gal. I love her vibes.

I know most people think nothing of her because she doesn’t get to talk or do much, but I find her role fascinating in the context of the game especially knowing that in the loops Euphrasie is aware that the world is breaking apart or that she’s forced to repeat/ say things like a broken record against her wishes. TLDR- I like euphrasie a lot and I like when people in aus or fanfic and fanart expand on her other npcs characters in depth in general. It’s very cool and awesome >:)!!

So for anyone following me for Mabinogi related stuff, I understand that my blog as a whole is a jumbled mess of topics, memes, and various ramblings. You may just want to see mabi merch, 3D prints, or other such things; while having to sift through all the other stuff on my blog.

As a result, I went ahead and made a website that congregates all my creative projects, Mabinogi included. Of course this time around I've gone ahead and made sure each category is given it's own page. The site is very much a work in progress and some things may not display correctly on mobile, but for the time being it's a collection of things all in one place. I hope you guys find it easier to navigate than my blog lol. I'm likely, in the future; going to post about things here and also link back to the website update so they're easy to find for anyone looking for them. Since trying to find projects or translations might get tiresome in a sea of other memes and various posts.

Academic Track

A presentation on any discussion topic backed up by scholarly research. Possible ideas include close readings of the text itself and panels that place Les Misérables in context with other works, or within the context in which it was written.  Academic panels on subjects adjacent to Les Mis (e.g. the social/political context of events that take place within the novel, 19th century French history, discussions of the themes that feature in Les Misérables through the lens of a specific field of study) will also be considered. 

Fan Track 

The possibilities are endless! Want to tell us all about your favorite fan theories/fanworks? Want to discuss an aspect of the brick in a low-pressure, informal way? Got a favorite adaptation, or staging of the musical? Want to debate which cast recording is the best recording? Are you working on a piece of transformative work or fandom-related project, and willing to discuss your creative process? There's gonna be some issues with both OSHA and ADA compliance there I think, legally they can do it within reason but it can open the door to all kinds of lawsuits if they do.

Thanks to the internet and those blessed meme things, many employees live by the meme-philosophy: Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that's why I poop on company time. However, under the law, employers are legally allowed to restrict bathroom breaks, at least, within reason.

Generally, reasonable restrictions will not prohibit employees from using the restroom when the need arises. However, in production, or client facing industries, employers may require an employee to wait for a co-worker to relieve their position before taking a bathroom break. Additionally, if an employee has a medical condition that necessitates frequent bathroom breaks, employers may need to be flexible as frequent bathroom breaks is an easily achievable reasonable accommodation in nearly all situations.

Giving Bathroom Restrictions the Business

While there is no federal law that specifies the number or length of bathroom breaks an employer must provide, restricting bathroom use unreasonably can lead to lawsuits and even all-out labor disputes with picketers and media. OSHA does provide rules that require employers to provide employee restrooms, and allow employees access to those restrooms.

Generally, unreasonable restrictions on bathroom usage will be viewed as a violation of an employee's rights because it subjects employees to detrimental effects to their health, including urinary tract and bladder infections, kidney stones, and other ailments. Furthermore, depending on a company's policy, restrictions on the length of bathroom usage may also have a discriminatory impact on women, or aging individuals, who sometimes need a little extra time in the restroom.

What's Reasonable?

What is considered reasonable will vary from job to job, and likely depend on state law as well. If an employee's bathroom usage interferes with their ability to do their job, or with the production line, or client services, then the law may not protect that employee.

Alternatively, if an employee needs to use the restroom, an employer should not have a policy that denies that employee the ability to do so. Even where an employee has an essential job, such as on a production line, an employer may be required to provide prompt and temporary relief of duties for the employee.

Does an Employer Have to Pay for Bathroom Breaks?

Generally, under the Fair Labor Standards Act, short breaks between 5 to 20 minutes are considered mutually beneficial for employer and employee, and as such, should be paid. However, if the breaks extend beyond 20 minutes, an employer can refuse to pay for that time.

An employer does not have to pay you for a break during which you are completely relieved of your job duties.  Your employer can require you to stay on the business premises during your break.  Only the following breaks are required:

      Minors younger than 16 must be given a 30-minute break if they are employed five hours or more in a day.

      A union contract may require breaks and those requirements are enforced by the union.

Over the last decade, trans civil rights claims (particularly those of trans women, and especially those of trans women who love women) have become the scapegoat for an increasingly pervasive anxiety: that young people, or social media, or young people on social media, are incapable of rational thought, and their modes of reasoning need to be radically suppressed for the good of their blameless victims, which are sometimes figured as “women,” sometimes as “the university,” sometimes as “children,” and sometimes as “lesbians.” In order to defend this facially rather improbable account of the world, the gender critical movement must maintain a constant state of battle-readiness: always ready to swarm some graduate student on Twitter, to circulate some collection of memes that prove that trans teenagers are more likely to detransition than is widely believed, or to smear anyone who contradicts any of their positions as a rapist, a pedophile, an apologist for rapists or pedophiles, a misogynist, a wife-beater, a homophobe, or all of the above. These interventions, which are daily occurrences, have intensified a climate of mistrust and paranoia in British universities, but what is most striking to me is that they resemble maximally punitive pedagogical interventions: claiming to speak against dogma, and in favor of complexity and independence of thought, a class of teachers aims to intimidate, belittle, humiliate, and silence a class of students, instead of—as might have otherwise been expected of them—doing their job and actually teaching.

Gimmick

Each doll (except 2Dreami) came in three variations (Day, Sparkle, and Evening) and when you opened the doll and gave it a "makeover": your dolls variation would be revealed.

A faceplate of their faces in messy make up covers each dolls face. To “wash away” the makeup, a plastic mask(a faceplate that looks like a foamy mask) clips onto her face, which then pulls off her “messed up makeup” faceplate-revealing a more manicured face.  Then her hair needs to be brushed and styled, which is gelled into a crazy-like pattern. Each doll comes with a different hair tool for each dolls different hairstyle.  

In addition, each doll had a different body type and, when light is shone in the eyes, reveals a symbol.

History

#FailFix dolls were developed by Moose Toys, an Australian-based company, and are their first fashion dolls in their toyline. The line was nominated and a Finalist for Toy of the Year in the Doll Category by the Toy Association. The company took inspiration from the “beauty tutorial fail” memes and videos of that time.

2Dreami: A fair-skinned girl with white hair. Unlike the other dolls, she comes with two outfits and hairdye. She also comes with a salon chair. You can style her hair into a French braid. Bio: A daydream believer, 2Dreami's got fantasy fever! Description: She colors her world with pastel and rainbows, decorates with sparkles, and fills it with unicorns! You might think her mind is away in the clouds, but this is one smart cookie who knows how to pull off a magical look with no effort at all! Fav Vid: DIY Unicorn stationary, candy, make up…. Controversies

Due to the makeover aspect, many parents complained that the dolls implying to be failures for having messed up makeup and hair was damaging to young girls. The Chief executive, Felicia Willow, of the Fawcett Society, a gender equality organization remarks: 'It's disappointing that sexist stereotypes persist. 'It's about time toy manufacturers and retailers woke up and dragged themselves out of the dark ages.' 

The original version of Kawaii.Qtee's dress had stolen art on it by the artist known as Misskika who created the artwork for an official Sanrio T-Shirt. The dress was later changed to feature a different design but was then changed back to feature Misskika's design once again after the conflict was concluded.

The Children's Advertising Review Unit (CARU) (an independent self-regulatory agency for the promotion of responsible advertising and privacy practices to children under the age of 13) determined that Moose Toys product advertising to children for the dolls failed to comply with provisions stating that advertising should not portray or encourage negative social stereotyping, prejudice, or discrimination. Moose toys in response decided to pull Failfix off the shelves.

Yeah, interesting question. I think as AO3 expands, more other groups are finding it useful, but it's definitely AFAB central. I wouldn't expect it to be the primary hangout for trans women, but maybe I'm wrong?
